About Dr. Candice Matthews

Dr. Candice Matthews Statewide Vice Chair is a highly accomplished and well-respected administrator with over two decades of experience in the field of social work. Currently, she holds the Director of Children of Diversity Foster Adoption Agency position, where she is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing the agency’s strategic plan cost-effectively and time-efficiently. In addition to her managerial duties, Candice is also responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization, managing committees, developing staff, and creating business plans in collaboration with state departments. Dr. Matthews was rewarded An honorary doctorate.

Dr. Matthews has dedicated her life to helping others. She has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of those around her, and her efforts have not gone unnoticed. She has been awarded an honorary doctorate for her significant contributions to society and continues to make a difference in the world today.

She is an accomplished woman who has dedicated her life to helping others. Her involvement with organizations such as the Texas Coalition of Black Democrats, a voter protection project, and the Rainbow Push Coalition are examples of the generous and charitable work she has done for the greater good of society. Jesse Jackson established this latter organization, and it is currently a non-profit organization based in Chicago. It was formed due to the merger of Operation PUSH and the National Rainbow Coalition.

Dr. Candice Matthews Statewide Vice Chair was born and raised in Houston, Texas. After attending Macedonia Bible College, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology degree, her Master of Arts in Christian Education degree, and her Doctor of Philosophy in Cognitive Development degree, she was awarded an honorary doctorate in Humanities by Esteem Bible University. She is currently serving as the Chairwoman of the Board of Regents for Leaders Esteem Christian Bible University. In addition to this, she is currently attending Texas A&M University’s Mays College of Business to complete the requirements for her Master of Business Administration degree.

Dr. Matthews is the Executive Director of the non-profit Children of Diversity Foster Adoption Agency in Houston and Beaumont, Texas, which she founded in 2001. The agency provides services to children waiting to be adopted, including those with special needs and their families. Dr. Matthews has dedicated her life to helping children find loving homes and helped countless families find happiness through adoption.
